Salesforce has introduced some new artificial intelligence features for the business-focused chat app Slack, designed to handle a number of tasks such as transcription.
The company stated that the main new feature is Slack AI collective notes, aimed at “capturing key points and action items so that users can focus on the work they are doing.”
This appears to be a more powerful version of the previous Slack AI feature that summarizes key channels and creates summaries of threads with a single click.
When invited to a message, Slack AI generates text based on real-time audio and messages shared in the thread, and it can also organize notes with citations, action items, and shared files on a canvas.
All participants in the messaging can then view the notes later, even if they were unable to attend.
Slack has also updated the AI search feature to provide unique results for users based on the files and applications they have uploaded in Slack, including boards, texts from threads, documents from connected apps, Google files, and more.
